TroubleShooting guidelines (Steps) if internet not working.

1. Restart your Browser.

2. Check the physical connection.

3. Try Pinging google.com or any other website.
Click Start > Run > Type “cmd” and click OK
and try to “ping google.com”

If goggle is pinging you are good to go online.


If google is not pinging then try to ping google by its DNS IP Address (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4).
Or you can Ping 74.125.224.72 (Google Servers IP Address)
You can open google with that IP in browser as well like http://74.125.224.72/.
4. Ipconfig -Click Start > Run > Type “cmd” and click OK
and in the black screen type “ipconfig” and hit enter key.
IP Address………..192.168.1.11
Subnet Mask……….255.255.255.0
Default Gateway……192.168.1.1

5. Ping – IP Address and Default Gateway.

 Click Start > Run > Type “cmd” and click OK

Ex- type ping 192.168.1.1.

6. If you getting response like that.

 Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64

 Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time=4ms TTL=64.

Then it is fine otherwise you must be getting response like that:-

 Request Time Out.
Request Time out.

Then please contact your system Admin.
7. If the problem persists.
8. Reset Socket files….God Command to fix your internet connection!


Click Start > Run > Type “cmd” and click OK
and type “Netsh Winsock Reset Catalog”
and then restart the computer. (This command runs only on windows XP SP2 or Higher Versions)
9. Inform system administrator.

 To use the System File Checker, follow these steps:
1.     Close any open programs on your Desktop
2.     Click on the Start button
3.     Click Run
4.     Type this command in the Run box: SFC /SCANNOW
5.     Click the "OK" button
